Emergency Shelter & Transitional Housing for Survivors

The Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development funds gender-based violence (GBV) Programs to support access to safe, stable housing for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. Emergency shelters provide immediate, short-term refuge for individuals and families fleeing violence, offering safety, privacy, and access to critical support services. Transitional housing offers survivors a longer-term, supportive living environment as they work toward stability and independence. Programs are trauma-informed, confidential, and centered on survivor needs, with wraparound services such as case management, counseling, legal advocacy, and housing navigation.
