Dr. Ericka O. Erickson

Dr. Ericka Omena Erickson serves as Strategy and Policy Manager for the San Francisco Child Care Planning and Advisory Council (CPAC), where she supports strategic initiatives, public policy, community engagement, and Universal Prekindergarten Mixed Delivery efforts. She brings more than a decade of experience advancing equitable early care and education systems and community development strategies across California.
Her previous roles include serving as the Local Child Care and Development Planning Council Coordinator for Marin and Solano Counties, a Policy and Program Officer at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), and a lecturer at San Francisco State University’s School of Social Work. At LIIF, Ericka helped secure more than $350 million for California’s Child Care and Development Infrastructure Grant Program and co-launched Build Up California, a statewide initiative focused on expanding child care facilities in underserved communities.
A Brazilian American Latina and trilingual advocate fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Ericka is committed to centering community voices and advancing racial, gender, and economic equity. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University, where her research examined how Latina family child care providers developed leadership and collective political power through union organizing, as well as a Master of Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
