San Francisco’s District 7, which includes West Portal, Parkmerced, Lake Merced, and many other western neighborhoods, is hosting three Summer Learning Week events.Bay Area Community Resources: Sunset Beacon Summer Program
Sunset Beacon Fest: This event is a culminating celebration that showcases and honors the achievements, growth, and accomplishments of students throughout their time in the program. Through performances, exhibitions, and interactive activities, students have the opportunity to share the skills they have developed, the connections they have built, and the experiences that have shaped their journey. The festival serves as a joyful reflection of their hard work and dedication while bringing together families, staff, and community members to celebrate the vibrant spirit and success of the Sunset Beacon community. Community Youth Center: CYC San Francisco International High School Summer
Summer Showcase: Our program will host a “Learn, Lead, Belong Showcase: Youth Voices in Our Community,” where students will present projects developed throughout the summer, including vision boards, English Language Development work, college and career exploration, and creative arts. The event will highlight student learning, leadership, and sense of belonging. Photos coming soon!
Community Youth Center: Aptos Beacon
Day of Play: Students will participate in a full day of interactive play and team-building activities designed to help them connect with their peers, strengthen relationships, and develop important leadership skills. Through a variety of engaging challenges, collaborative games, and group discussions, students will have opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. The day will focus on community-building activities that encourage cooperation, foster a sense of belonging, and build a stronger, more connected student community. Photos coming soon!
