Community Youth Center of San Francisco: CYC Sunset Summer

Belonging in the Modern World: Our service-learning project is focused on educating fellow summer program participants and community members about the diverse ecosystems that make up our natural world, including environments such as the Arctic, rainforest, ocean, desert, and even urban city landscapes. Through interactive presentations, activities, and educational displays, students will explore the unique plants, animals, and environmental challenges found within each ecosystem. The project will also encourage participants to reflect on what it means to belong in different spaces by examining the relationships between people, communities, and the environments they inhabit. By connecting environmental education with themes of inclusion, stewardship, and community, students will develop a deeper understanding of both the natural world and their role in helping create places where all living things can thrive.
