San Francisco’s District 10, home to the Bayview, Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Sunnydale, and Visitacion Valley neighborhoods, is hosting eight Summer Learning Week events.

Asian Pacific American Community Center

Visitacion Valley APACC Cleaning Day: We will lead a full Visitacion Valley neighborhood cleanup and beautification initiative, engaging youth, families, and corporate partners in a collaborative effort to revitalize public spaces. Together, participants will clean streets and sidewalks, enhance curb appeal, and plant greenery in designated sidewalk areas, fostering a shared sense of pride, stewardship, and community connection throughout the neighborhood. Bay Area Community Resources: Bret Harte Beacon Summer Camp

Summer Spark: Learn, Play, Create: Summer Spark: Learn, Play, and Create is a dynamic TK–5 program designed to ignite curiosity, creativity, and connection through hands-on learning and engaging enrichment activities. Students will participate in a variety of experiences including arts and crafts, STEM-based projects, sports, games, and collaborative clubs that encourage exploration and skill-building in a fun, supportive environment. This event will align with San Francisco’s Learn, Lead, Belong theme by providing meaningful opportunities for students to learn through interactive and enriching activities, lead by building confidence, making choices, and taking on leadership roles within clubs and group projects, and belong by fostering a safe, inclusive community where every student feels valued, connected, and empowered to participate. FACES SF: BaseCamp

Summer of Leadership & Belonging: Our Summer Learning Week event, “Summer of Leadership & Belonging,” is centered on creating a space where every child feels seen, supported, and connected. Throughout the week, youth will participate in activities that build confidence, encourage teamwork, and give them opportunities to share their voice and step into leadership in ways that feel meaningful to them. Good Samaritan Family Resource Center: Vision Academy

Time Travelers Week (The Past, The Present, and The Future): Students will engage in an exploration of San Francisco’s past, present, and future, developing a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history, diverse communities, and ongoing evolution. Through interactive learning experiences, they will examine how neighborhoods have changed over time, identify current community strengths and challenges, and envision ways to create a more inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable future. Students will be encouraged to think critically about their role as community members and leaders, while developing ideas and solutions that contribute to the growth and well-being of the neighborhoods in which they live. Good Samaritan Family Resource Center: Willie Brown Beacon Summer Learning Program

WB Community Outdoor Education & Garden Clean-Up Day: As part of Summer Learning Week, this event is centered on the theme Learn, Lead, Belong in San Francisco and invites students, families, and community members to come together in support of our school environment. Participants will learn about sustainability, environmental care, and urban gardening through hands-on activities. Youth will have opportunities to lead projects such as garden bed restoration, planting, and organizing clean-up efforts. Throughout the event, we aim to foster a strong sense of belonging by creating a welcoming space where everyone contributes and connects. Activities will include campus beautification, garden clean-up, planting, and interactive outdoor learning experiences. Potrero Hill Neighborhood House: Summer in the City

Potrero STEAM Festival: The Potrero Hill STEAM Festival will be an afternoon filled with exploration, experiment, and discovery. We will close down the street in front of our facility, and invite the community out to to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematical projects developed by friends and neighbor in these fields. Real Options for City Kids: Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.) Go Camp and Summer Escape

Family Game Night: This event will promote community building and sense of belonging by inviting families and students to enjoy a game night. Students will get an opportunity to lead and explain game rules throughout the event. We will have some board games available along with organized games facilitated by students. Photos coming soon!

Urban Services YMCA: Charles Drew Beacon

Bay Area Changemakers: Learn, Lead, Belong Through Service: Drew Beacon is excited for summer learning week where students will learn, lead, and belong while making a real difference in San Francisco. This engaging experience will allow students to team up with staff and peers to participate in hands-on projects, and give back to their community in fun and meaningful ways. Through out the week, students will build new skills, take on leadership roles, and work together to solve real-world challenges; all while discovering how they can make a positive impact in our city. It's more than just a program, its a chance for students to connect, grow, and be part of something bigger. Photos coming soon!
