he / himSenior Data Engineer - Infrastructure

Dan Snow is a Senior Data Engineer at DataSF, where he helps build the infrastructure that powers San Francisco’s data platforms. He loves maps, fast command-line tools, and boring technology. Before joining the City and County of San Francisco, Dan had a brief stint as a healthcare researcher and data journalist. Before moving to San Francisco, he was the Director of Data Science at the Cook County Assessor’s Office, where he built the data infrastructure and models used to determine property taxes.
Dan holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. While in graduate school, he researched spatial access to primary care physicians and built infrastructure to calculate nationwide travel-time matrices. Outside of work, Dan enjoys reading, rock climbing, mountain biking, tinkering with his home lab, and hanging out with his cat, Mimi.
