About the Community Response and Violence Prevention Initiative RFP

The Adult Probation Department (APD), in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF), and the Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking up to three nonprofit organizations to provide coordinated violence prevention and intervention services through the Community Response and Violence Prevention Initiative (CRVP).

Organizations funded through this RFP will provide year-round street outreach, conflict mediation, community de-escalation and safe passage services for at-risk youth, transition-age youth and young adults (TAY/A), and adults. Awardees will work together and with City agencies and public schools to coordinate violence prevention efforts across San Francisco.

This RFP provides up to $3.1 million per year to fund up to three nonprofit organizations. Grants will run from January 1, 2027, through June 30, 2029.

  • Submit RFP questions to RFP@dcyf.org by Friday August 28, 2026, at 5PM. DCYF staff will only respond to questions submitted via email during the official question period.
  • Review RFP Questions & Answers that will be posted on this page on Friday September 4, 2026 by 5PM.
  • Submit an Intent to Apply in the online RFP system by Friday September 11, 2026 at 5PM. If your organization meets the minimum qualifications, you will receive access to submit a proposal and budget.
  • Submit written proposal and budget in the online RFP system by Fri October 23, 2026 at 5PM.
