Communications and Outreach Internship

The Office of Sexual Harassment & Assault Response + Prevention (SHARP) advocates for victims-survivors of sexual violence, strengthens and expands support systems, and advances prevention strategies to end sexual violence in San Francisco. Part of our prevention work includes SHARP Night Out, a certification program that works with businesses to promote safer nightlife.

The Communications Intern will support communications, outreach, and special projects for SHARP Night Out certification program.

Responsibilities may include:

• Develop and edit social media content and other materials promoting SHARP Night Out
• Draft informational and outreach materials for participating businesses, community partners, and patrons
• Support outreach and communications with participating and prospective nightlife businesses
• Research opportunities to increase awareness of SHARP Night Out and support related events and projects

Through the internship, students will gain experience in:

• Developing communications for public programs and initiatives
• Creating content for different audiences and platforms
• Community and stakeholder outreach
• Public-sector communications and engagement

• We’re looking for students interested in communications, marketing, public relations, community engagement, or related fields.
• Strong writing, creativity, organization, attention to detail, and communication skills are required.
• Experience with social media, graphic design, photography, video, or other content creation is a plus.

Compensation: Unpaid
Hours: Flexible, minimum of 10 hours per week
Duration: Flexible, 3-month minimum
Schedule: Hybrid
