Reimagining Market Street

A design competition has selected five visionary proposals to transform this key corridor with ideas ranging from lush, forest-inspired landscaping to LED banners that project light, art, and a unique sense of place.

Powell Street revitalization

A $22 million investment is breathing new life into the heart of Union Square, enhancing the main shopping corridor to attract more visitors and locals alike.

Skyline ambitions

A proposal is in the works to construct the tallest office tower on the West Coast, located in the thriving East Cut neighborhood.

Office-to-housing conversions

Incentives are being offered to transform underused office space into much-needed housing and bring more residents into the district and encouraging a walkable, live-work-play environment.
