Camryn Marlow is serving her second term as the District 2 commissioner on the San Francisco Youth Commission.

Camryn was born and raised here in San Francisco. She has been involved in community service ever since her first experience volunteering at a soup kitchen when she was nine years old. During the height of the pandemic, seniors couldn’t leave their homes because they were at high risk of becoming extremely sick if they caught COVID. They needed much support in their isolation because they couldn’t go outside to shop for food. She started cooking meals for seniors through Stepping Stones (a senior support facility). It gave her a sense of purpose by making a difference while sheltering at home.

Camryn is currently a junior at Lick-Wilmerding High School and playing on the LWHS Varsity Tennis team. She is also a Special Olympics coach, teaching kids with special needs to swim. Camryn has led multiple donation and equipment drives including: leading a donation drive for Five Pillars to purchase and assemble school supply kits for Afghan refugee children resettling in Northern California; leading a donation drive for Project Open Hand to provide essentials for the homeless population, and leading an equipment drive for Youth Tennis Advantage to resource disadvantaged youth who benefit from building their confidence and resilience skills through a sport like tennis.

As a Youth Commissioner, Camryn is passionate about advocating for programs and policies that support youth development initiatives. In particular, programs that provide solutions to improve the mental health of the San Francisco youth population.
