As we approach the end of the year, we want to encourage you to submit your permit applications as early as possible.
Every three years, when the building codes are updated, the City receives a surge of permit applications over the holidays and leading up to December 31, the final day before new building code regulations take effect on January 1.
DBI and the Permit Center are preparing for this surge and will do all we can to process the applications as they come in but the rush of applications may impact our waiting and processing times.
To ensure your project is not affected, we strongly encourage you to submit your applications by December 15. Late or incomplete applications may be subject to the 2025 building codes.
