BEAM Clinic: Same-Day Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder

Bringing Expanded Access to Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (BEAM) helps San Franciscans get started with or restart treatment for opioid use disorder, including addiction to fentanyl, heroin, and pills.

Our team is here to help:

• Talk through treatment options, including methadone and buprenorphine
• Provide a same-day prescription for buprenorphine and support for starting methadone
• Pick up prescriptions or help you get to a clinic
• Keep you connected to on-going care
• Connect you to outpatient and residential treatment programs
• Find a primary care doctor or other medical care
• Support you with benefits applications or housing assessments

BEAM’s services are available on a drop-in basis, both in-person and over the phone, at no cost. Some medications may require insurance. Help is available onsite for applying to or transferring insurance, as needed.

Medication Treatment

You will meet with a medical provider who will talk with you about treatment options and help you choose the option that best fits your needs.

Buprenorphine

• Same-day prescription (Subutex, Suboxone)
• Daily pill or under-the-tongue film (pill or under-the-tongue film) or weekly or monthly injection (Sublocade, Brixadi)
• Pickup at the Behavioral Health Services Pharmacy (1380 Howard St.) or a retail pharmacy in San Francisco

Methadone

• Information on all 7 methadone clinics in San Francisco
• Help finding openings at clinics
• Transportation to your intake appointment
• A person to accompany you to your intake appointment for support.
