The San Francisco Arts Commission's Artist in Residence (AIR) program builds partnerships with city departments in order to provide unique residency opportunities that result in strengthening the value of artists participating in and responding to the advancement of civic dialogue. Since it's inception in 2015, the SFAC's AIR program has placed local artists in SF City Hall, SF Planning, SF COVID Command Center, SF Public Library, and SF Recreation and Park Department. AIR opportunities are open to artists residing in the Bay Area. Image: 2022 Artist in Residence James Q. Chan filming at the SFPL Main Branch
