We can support you to plan all the stages of pregnancy, birth and childhood.

If you are pregnant or have a new baby, a public health nurse can visit you at home.

We issue birth certificates for children under 3 years old. You can get them in person or by mail.

All out‑of‑hospital births must be officially recorded when a baby is born at home or anywhere other than a hospital in the City and County of San Francisco. Parents must register the birth within 21 days so their child can receive an official birth certificate.
