The San Francisco Digital Services team works with other City departments to redesign services and make them digital.
We start with humans, not technology, but we use digital tools to make it easier for people to get things done. Our goal is to make it easy for all residents to access the City’s nearly 1,000 services online, from any device.
Our work goes beyond websites. We’re rethinking how public services are designed, by understanding what our users need and building with an agile approach. This involves redesigning business processes, integrating back end systems, and re-thinking how services are delivered for an excellent resident experience.
We are a team of product managers, designers, developers, content strategists, and project managers. We are building a team that reflects a diverse set of lived experiences and identities. We are part of a growing movement, shaping the City’s approach to services and technology. We work on a wide range of projects including the city’s website, affordable housing, open data, and permitting.
Equity is at the heart of what we do, and this design principle translates into accessible and inclusive digital services that work for all San Franciscans. We ensure that residents’ voices are heard throughout the service redesign process, and build toward more inclusive and equitable City services.
