Sue Diamond

Sue Diamond has been working in the land use field in San Francisco since 1983. She was a land use partner at two national law firms, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP, and then formed her own law firm representing nonprofit organizations on issues at the nexus of real estate and their mission.  In addition, Diamond taught Land Use Law at Stanford Law School for many years and also taught land use and development courses at U.S.C. and at the Haas Business School at U.C. Berkeley.  In 2019, San Francisco Mayor London Breed appointed Diamond to the San Francisco Planning Commission and she has been serving in that role since then.

Diamond has been deeply involved with the nonprofit community not only as an attorney, but also as a volunteer board member for numerous organizations including the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, Temple Emanu-El, Mercy Housing California, Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, Jewish Community Centers Association of North America, University High School and Marin Academy.  

She has a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Master’s in City Planning from M.I.T., and a B.S. from Stanford University.
