DBI Update – New Online Records Request Form, Electronic Plan Review Online Info Sessions

Dear Customers,

Good news! As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our customer service and modernize our operations, the Department of Building Inspection (DBI) is making it easier for you to request public records.

Starting today, issued building permits, job cards, and Certificates of Final Completion and Occupancy can be ordered using an online form instead of email. 

This change will make it easier for you to request the records and will reduce the turnaround time for us to fulfill your request. Here’s a link to the Request Public Building Records webpage with the new form.

Next, as you know, DBI is transitioning to 100% electronic plan review (EPR) for In-House Review projects starting January 1, 2024. Here’s a link to some resource pages if you haven’t yet used EPR.
