Welcome to AITC
AITC is a non-profit clinic that is part of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH). As public health providers, our mission is to prevent disease and protect the health of all.
We are open to the public, and serve all members of the community, including:
- Teens and adults seeking recommended vaccinations
- School age children needing vaccines required for school
- Adults who need vaccines for work or school
- Immigrants to the US requiring vaccines for Change of Status
- Individuals and families planning international travel
Our services are by appointment only.
AITC is unable to accept insurance. Fees must be paid at the time of service. Low-cost or free services are available to those who qualify.
Message about our low-cost Shingrix supply
Free Shingles vaccine for uninsured persons is out of stock until further notice. In the meanwhile, we have Shingrix available at the regular price for adults age 50 years and up
Message about MPOX vaccine (JYNNEOS)
The supply of free, federally funded vaccine is limited, since JYNNEOS is now available at pharmacies and covered by insurance, including Medi-Cal and Medicare. Please visit Get mpox vaccines, testing, and medicine | San Francisco (sf.gov) for more details.
Our clinic is prioritizing the free vaccine for patients who are uninsured or underinsured (face a barrier to using their insurance to pay for JYNNEOS).
Please note that uninsured persons including travelers are still not eligible for free vaccine unless they meet our clinical criteria below.
SFDPH recommends vaccination based on CDC vaccine eligibility criteria, found here.
SFDPH also recommends vaccination for:
- Any person living with HIV, especially those with risk of complications of mpox, such as persons with a CD4 count <350/mm3, an unsuppressed viral load, or who have had an opportunistic infection
- Persons who are taking or are eligible to take HIV PrEP
- Sex workers
If you have insurance, please call your primary care provider or pharmacy to arrange an appointment for JYNNEOS vaccination. If you do not have insurance and meet eligibility criteria for mpox vaccination, you can receive a free mpox vaccine.
