Our mission
The mission of San Francisco Department of Public Health’s HIV Health Services (HHS) is to:
- oversee and ensure state-of-the-art, client-centered services
- improve and sustain the quality of life of people with HIV
- work with federal, state, and local partners to promote health equity
- maintain an excellent HIV healthcare system that is comprehensive and sustainable
Our history
HIV Health Services Section was created in 1988 as part of the San Francisco Department of Health AIDS Office. The overall mission of the AIDS Office has been to support care, research and surveillance efforts and to oversee contracts with community-based services for care and prevention.
