Drop-in career advising hours

Job seekers and City employees can drop in to get your questions answered about City employment. No appointment is needed. Drop-in hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please note: Drop-in advising is unavailable on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

City employees can meet with DHR's Workforce Development staff to discuss career goals and plan next steps. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Job seekers with disabilities

Attend drop-in or virtual advising sessions at the following times: Mondays: 10:30 am - 11:30 am and 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Tuesdays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am and 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Please inform us of any accommodation needs.

Onboarding services

Next steps in the City hiring process

If you get a job with the City, you will need to pass a background check and get a special ID badge called a Disaster Service Worker (DSW) badge. To complete the background check, you must make an appointment to have your fingerprints taken. During this appointment, they will also take your photo for the badge. If you can’t take the photo that day, you can come back later to have it done.
