Overview
Members of the public may attend the meeting to observe and provide public comment at the physical meeting location listed above. Public comment will be taken on each agenda item involving discussion and/or action before the Council takes action on the item or, in the case of discussion-only items, before the item is concluded.
Agenda
Call to order/roll call
The meeting will be called to order, followed by a roll call to establish quorum.
Consent agenda
The Council will review and possibly vote to approve minutes from the Council meeting on August 13, 2025.
Support for survivors of sexual assault report
Dr. Sarah Metz, Division Director at the UCSF Trauma Recovery Center, will present an overview of the Working Group on Support for Survivors of Sexual Assault final report and provide Council members with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss key findings.
SFPD Department General Orders (DGO) update
Asja Steeves, SFPD Policy Division Manager, will provide an update on the Domestic Violence DGO and other relevant upcoming DGOs with a nexus to family violence.
Tri-chair updates
Each Tri-Chair will provide updates on key issues in their respective areas of focus.

- Executive Director of Safe & Sound, San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Council (or designee)
Elder and dependent adult abuse recommendations
Ali Chiu, Lead Supervisor of Consultative Services at the Institute on Aging, will present three recommendations from the Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse Prevention Program to strengthen prevention, response, and support for elder and dependent adults experiencing abuse.
Family Violence Council streamlining updates
Bobbi Lopez, Deputy Director at the Mayor’s Office for Victims’ Rights, will provide updates on the Commission Streamlining Task Force recommendations for the Family Violence Council and on the amendments to the Council’s founding ordinance.
Announcements
Council members will have an opportunity to share upcoming announcements, events, and meetings related to the work of the Family Violence Council.
General public comment
Open floor for public comment on items not on the agenda that are within the jurisdiction of the Family Violence Council.

Public comment
Public comment will be taken on each agenda item involving discussion or action before the Council takes action on that item. The public is asked to wait for the particular agenda item before making a comment on that item. When the moderator announces that the Council is taking public comment, members of the public can stand before the Council and be called forward. Each member of the public may address the Council for up to two minutes, unless otherwise announced by the Steering Committee.
